Position Description:

As a Hardwood Giant Sr. Accountant your role is to perform task associated with Accounting, Finance and Budgeting. Prepare month end and yearly closes of income statement, balance sheet, account reconciliations and G/L variance analysis. The Sr. Accountant will manage the full cycle accounting group and ensure proper processes and procedures are in place

Job Responsibilites:

- Responsible for month-end close procedures including the preparation of all month-end journal entries, management financial reporting
- Managing the finance accounting and budgeting function is a key role.
- Will have to deliver reporting on variance analysis, cash flow analysis and financial ratios.
- Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI) through data analysis and setting up the KPI process.
- Forecasting and Analysis of revenue per employee and store sales.
- Budgeting the finance and presenting the data analysis to higher leadership.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to General Ledger to assess the reasonability of accruals, reviewing with Management and making necessary adjustments as required.
- Manage multiple intercompany entity’s transactions and monthly reconciliations including corporate inter-company reconciled reporting
- Maintain a client database and performing full cycle bookkeeping processes (A/P, A/R, Bank/Credit Card reconciliations)
- Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives with software and systems implementation and other departmental or company-wide improvements, as required.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare cash-flow reports,



projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals.
- Review of HST returns, WSIB, Payroll liabilities, ROE and other regulatory filings.
- Prepare, file, and calculate monthly HST & QST sales tax returns
- Assist with year-end audit and file corporate Income tax return determine that the relevant taxes are recorded, and the resulting tax rebates are claimed appropriately.
- Handling external audit engagement and CRA regulatory audits as needed.
- Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports for management information system.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of organizational information.
- Continuously evaluate accounting processes and reporting, looking for increased efficiencies and better information for management decision-making; and identify and provide solutions to processes
- Complete special projects, ad-hoc requests and various other duties as needed.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combined education and work-related experience.
- At least five years of experience in general accounting, experience in operations with well-rounded knowledge of cost accounting concepts.

A strong understanding of Accounting Standards and Practices is required.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
