Island Crisis Care Society is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to maintain financial integrity within our full-time finance team. The role emphasizes accuracy in record-keeping while supporting our mission of community service.
In this role, you will be part of the ICCS Finance Team and will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with financial policies. Your bookkeeping skills will help enhance accountability and support for vulnerable community members and programs. This full time position requires union membership and a solid understanding of financial practices in a non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update accounting records and journals
• Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance cheque books
• Prepare summaries and assist with budget reports
• Resolve discrepancies in financial records efficiently
Requirements:
• High school diploma with two years in bookkeeping or finance
• Demonstrated bookkeeping experience in similar settings
• Knowledge of financial regulations in the non-profit sector
• Interest or background in mental health and recovery services
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
