Core Duties

Technical ownership and ongoing maintenance of game-to-cloud server integrations built within Unreal Engine.

Implementation and refinement of networked platform SDKs, leveraging up-to-date Web/API standards and strongly-typed scripts.

Development of online multiplayer services, including:

Hybrid lobby setups (managing dedicated cloud servers alongside direct host/P2P connections).

Data persistence pipelines for player account profiles, unlocked items, and progression tracks.

Live-ops gameplay features such as player metrics, inventory databases, and timed operational events.

Collaboration with interface engineers to ensure smooth synchronization between online microservices and player HUD/menus.





Technical alignment with systems designers to map out data schema, server payload structures, and cloud logic.

Diagnostic troubleshooting across the complete stack, resolving performance bottlenecks between client builds and remote services.

Creation of clear technical documentation covering server workflows, network logic, and subsystem architectures.

Required Experience

8+ years

working professionally in online backends or networked software architecture.

Advanced mastery

of Unreal Engine architecture (UE5 familiarity ideal).

Expert-level proficiency

in C++ programming within real-time game engine environments.

Hands-on background

with cloud multiplayer frameworks (e.g., PlayFab, Pragma, or custom backend stacks).

Proven familiarity

with web development tools and server environments (Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful/OpenAPI interfaces).

Demonstrated success

deploying online features directly to live games (e.g., matchmaking queues, inventory tracking, persistent stats).

Strong interpersonal skills:

Highly self-directed, articulate, and skilled at working within cross-disciplinary teams.
