Core Purpose
Own the growth strategy for a portfolio of DTC ecommerce clients: diagnosing where growth actually comes from and directing CRM, SEO, CRO, paid search, paid social, and affiliates against one commercial plan rather than six channel plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the growth strategy and 90-day roadmap for assigned accounts (10 accounts).
- Diagnose each client's growth model: acquisition efficiency, conversion, retention, and margin, and identify the real constraint.
- Set channel mix, budget allocation, and sequencing based on where incremental return is highest.
- Build and own the commercial case for each recommendation, including forecasts and expected impact.
- Manage team day-to-day workload in Asana.
- Lead cross-channel testing agendas and turn results into decisions, not reports.
- Act as the senior strategic voice in client relationships and QBRs.
- Present strategy, performance, risks, and opportunities to senior client stakeholders.
- Challenge and pressure-test channel leads' plans against the account strategy.
- Identify growth opportunities including new channels, new audiences, offer and pricing tests, LTV expansion, and retention economics.
- Work closely with CRM, Paid, SEO, CRO, Affiliates, Creative, Analytics.
- Contribute to pitches, audits, and current-business opportunities.
- Turn successful account-level strategy into repeatable growth frameworks.
What we're looking for:
- 4-7+ years in growth, performance marketing / agency strategy roles.
- Strong ecommerce/DTC experience.
- Working fluency across at least three of CRM, SEO, CRO, paid search, paid social, and affiliates; deep enough to challenge a specialist, not to replace one.
- Strong commercial and analytical thinking: comfortable with CAC, LTV, MER, contribution margin, cohort behaviour, and incrementality.
- Proven ability to build a growth thesis from data and defend it to a client.
- Experience presenting strategy and performance to senior client stakeholders.
- Ability to own multiple accounts independently.
- Confident holding a position when a client or channel lead disagrees.
- Strong mentoring capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Someone who can think strategically about a client's business but still understand the technical execution deeply.
What success looks like:
- Clients see the Growth Strategist as the person who decides where growth comes from next.
- Blended performance improves, not just individual channel metrics.
- Channel activity ladders into one coherent commercial plan rather than running in parallel.
- Growth opportunities and risks are identified proactively rather than reactively.
