Senior Division IT Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Milton, Ontario

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Model: Onsite 4 days per week / Remote 1 day per week The Chance

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Division IT Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Information Technology function supporting a sophisticated aerospace manufacturing environment .

As a key member of the Division Leadership Team, this individual will partner closely with business, manufacturing and corporate IT leadership to define and execute the division's technology strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable and secure IT operations while driving continuous improvement, digital transformation and the adoption of technologies that improve manufacturing and business performance.

This is a highly visible leadership position requiring someone who can effectively operate at the intersection of Information Technology, manufacturing operations, business strategy and continuous improvement .

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Business Partnership

- Partner directly with division leadership and functional teams to understand business and manufacturing requirements and translate them into an actionable IT strategy and technology roadmap.
- Participate as a member of the Division Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and operational performance of the business.
- Develop annual IT budgets, investment priorities and strategic five-year technology plans aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, business, global and corporate IT stakeholders to ensure technology investments support operational and financial commitments.
- Determine which technologies and systems should be managed at the divisional level versus leveraged as enterprise solutions and lead the execution of those strategies.

IT Operations, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

- Provide leadership for the IT organization responsible for maintaining critical systems, infrastructure and business applications.
- Ensure systems meet established performance, availability and service-level expectations.
- Oversee system upgrades, enhancements, patching and lifecycle management to maintain secure and reliable technology environments.
- Partner with corporate IT and security teams to implement infrastructure, cybersecurity and technology best practices.




- Lead vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
- Ensure IT systems, processes and controls support SOX compliance and other applicable governance requirements.

Manufacturing Technology & Continuous Improvement

- Partner closely with manufacturing and operations leadership to identify opportunities for technology to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and operational performance.
- Champion Lean and Continuous Improvement principles within the IT organization.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate business and manufacturing processes.
- Lead technology and process-improvement initiatives supporting a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Establish best-practice standards, processes and documentation across the IT function.

Digital Transformation, Data & AI

- Evaluate and select emerging technologies, data science, analytics and AI solutions that can provide measurable value to the business.
- Identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies, automation and data to enhance decision-making and manufacturing performance.
- Develop business cases and implementation strategies for new technologies in collaboration with business and corporate stakeholders.
- Balance innovation with cybersecurity, governance, scalability and enterprise technology standards.

People Leadership

- Lead, develop and maintain a high-performing divisional IT organization.
- Recruit, coach and develop IT professionals while creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Lead succession planning, talent development and strategic workforce planning.
- Ensure the IT organization operates according to the highest standards of safety, ethics and quality .

Qualifications

Required

- University degree; backgrounds in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline are relevant to the position.*
- Significant progressive experience within Information Technology,



including experience in a senior IT leadership/management capacity .
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing IT teams.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial environment , ideally within aerospace, aviation or another highly regulated manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, enterprise applications, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute IT strategies and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Experience managing technology projects, budgets, priorities and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with senior business, operations and technology leadership.
- Ability to work onsite in Milton, Ontario four days per week .

Highly Desirable

- Aerospace or aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience within a large, global and/or matrixed manufacturing organization.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma or Business Process Improvement .
- ERP and manufacturing systems experience.
- Experience with SOX compliance, IT controls, audit requirements and/or IT governance.
- Exposure to manufacturing automation, digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Experience evaluating or implementing data, analytics, AI or emerging technology solutions.
- Experience supporting multi-site or divisional IT environments.
- Understanding of IT/OT environments within manufacturing operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is more than a traditional IT operations leader. They understand how technology contributes directly to manufacturing performance and business results . They have successfully led IT within a manufacturing environment and are equally comfortable discussing technology strategy with executives, operational priorities with plant leadership and technical requirements with IT teams.

Experience within aerospace manufacturing is strongly preferred , although candidates from other sophisticated manufacturing environments — including automotive, industrial equipment, advanced manufacturing or other regulated industries — may also bring highly transferable experience.
