The Senior Integration Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis, development, and ongoing support of Salesforce-centric integrations. The Senior Integration Engineer will work closely with Development Managers, Senior Software Engineers, and other team members such as QA Engineers, Product Owners, Support Engineers (DevOps), Solution Architects, and Business Users to deliver high-quality software and ensure systems are interoperating correctly once deployed.

This role specifically focuses on integration and backend microservices development for internal business systems.

Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality software efficiently
- Provide technical leadership
- Write high-quality, testable, and easily maintainable code
- Develop test classes and automated test scripts to support Quality Assurance activities
- Perform code reviews and provide feedback to other development team members as required
- Perform systems maintenance tasks
- Mentor team members in technical and other aspects of software development
- Assist Product Owners in turning high-level business requirements into technical tasks and contribute to estimation
- Work with internal technical stakeholders (Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Support Engineers, and Solutions Architects) to ensure product quality and reliability in production environments
- Perform software development activities within an Agile workflow, including Scrum ceremonies, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Stay up to date on platform functionality, new releases, and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to improve software products

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline
- 5+ years of software development experience across a variety of environments with a focus on integrations

Technical Experience with:




- Backend development using Kotlin and Spring Boot 4
- Microservices architecture
- Integration tooling (e.g., Boomi, Enterprise Kafka)
- Proven Experience With:
- Leveraging APIs to enable and extend integration endpoints
- ERP systems integration
- Continuous and prolonged trunk-based development

Scaling applications from:
- 0-1 TPS
- 1-100 TPS
- 100-1,000 TPS
- 1,000-10,000 TPS
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD)
- Zero-downtime upgrades for services and databases using evolutionary software engineering practices
- Operating microservices with observability, including business-aligned SLIs and SLOs
- Writing greenfield and brownfield Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts
- Asynchronous messaging, event-driven systems, pub/sub architectures, message ordering, and retry/error-handling strategies
- Data modelling and ETL methodologies
- Secure integration practices

End-to-end integration testing, including:
- API testing
- Contract testing
- Performance testing
- Load testing
- Experience in an Agile CI/CD Workplace utilizing:
- Modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI) and DevOps practices
- Monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Honeycomb)
- Testing tools (e.g., Postman)
- API documentation tools (e.g., OpenAPI, Swagger, Stoplight)
- AI analysis and code generation tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

- Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Salesforce Data Cloud, including data ingestion from data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and Marketing Cloud
- Salesforce integration patterns, including:
- Platform Events
- Change Data Capture (CDC)

Starting Rate: $50/hr Location: Burnaby, onsite 3 days/week
