- Provide clients with investigating engineering services related to events, systems, devices, and/or failures
- Provide expert opinions
- Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings
- Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage
- Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support
- Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures
- Collaborate with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects
- Collaborate with EFI Global’s national team of forensic experts on projects
- Follow industry acceptable methodology for performance of services
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and prospects
- Perform local marketing and sales activities
- Comply with company safety programs, standards, HR policies, programs, and initiatives
- Properly utilize and maintain personal protective equipment and company equipment
- Meet or exceed productivity levels and submit daily time entries
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of the posted position
- Five (5)+ years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Some introduction to the forensic sciences discipline
- Excellent oral and written communication
- PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products
- Analytical and interpretive skills

- Ability to work independently or in a team environment

- Ability to travel at least 30–40% of the time, locally or across provincial boundaries
