Responsible to drive all category-related business decisions for local subsidiary over the life cycle of the multiple products in the category. This includes total ownership of driving product strategy into the market including the development of Local Launch Plans and all elements of a robust go to market plan.
The proper level if attention is required to manage Product Management team within the respective category to meet product objectives and overall category objectives.
Build
Mid to Long term strategy plan (ATL, Display, Channel) for all products across category Build Mid to Long term strategy plan for Category and take ownership of executing strategy profitably Promo Planning Prepare customer collaboration, market analysis, product research, competitive landscape snapshot, channel inventory analysis Build initial market plan (by model/by account) and strategic account plan Customer Interaction Represent the category, along with National Account Sales Team for partner meetings Meet with top 10 customers quarterly to review past promotion success, current market, competitive landscape and to plan future promotional activities and requirements Conduct weekly conference call (Market / Competition / COGs /Product Planning) Manage product life cycle planning Prepare specs and messaging for printed/web/ppt/ad mats Provide management reporting for spend, profit, share with fluctuation analysis and commentary P&L; Management Manage marketing budget and spend KMDF planning (ATL plans)
Provide direction on customer price lists Supply Chain Management ~ Accountable for Inventory Management (month end reporting, create programs to move aging inventory, etc.) The manager is responsible for providing daily direction to all staff by delegating and scheduling work to the assigned team, and monitors work completion and quality according to procedures and deadlines. Recruits, coaches, and manages staff performance, by providing appropriate feedback and assisting with staff development and/or improvement plans. Provide the necessary resources and tools for staff to perform their duties, and help foster a culture of openness, innovation, and support within the work environment.
Ensure all direct reports successfully complete all required corporate and departmental training. Participate in the development, implementation and communication of Corporate and Departmental policies, standards and procedures, to ensure consistency across all bases of the business. Assist with the development and management of the departmental annual budget.
Liaise with internal customers to understand needs and resolve problems in a timely manner. Handle project related tasks as required and participate in cross functional team activities, in special circumstances, providing expertise. Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications. ~ The ability to plan,
organize and implement marketing projects and programs ~ The ability to negotiate with both vendors and customers on marketing proposals and plans ~ Ability to assist in long and mid-term business planning ~ Ability to manage budgets and determine ROI ~ 5 or more years working in a Product / Business Management role in the CE industry preferred ~ Experience managing a team of product managers is preferable Consumer Electronics background is a definite asset May lead a small team of professionals with limited control over budget spending or HR management such as recruiting or dismissal and supervises mentoring and coaching for team members Typically implements short-term action plans rather than developing policy, process or strategy Enhances or Improves methods or procedures and provides coaching to team members to ensure successful outcomeHas deep knowledge on one job area or broad knowledge on several job areas Typically requires at least 8 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years The total rewards package for a Regular Full-Time employee may include a variable incentive, savings matching (RRSP/TFSA/NRSP), extended health and dental perks with spending accounts, wellness and well-being benefits, development opportunities, and other employee perks.
