The Senior Manager, Events &

Experience is responsible for leveraging strategic event marketing and experience design to support the sales, distribution, and growth objectives of IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments. By partnering closely with business leaders and distribution stakeholders, the role develops and delivers impactful event programs that strengthen advisor relationships, showcase organizational capabilities, support product and business priorities, and create environments that inspire action, engagement, and business results. Accountable for both strategic planning and execution, this role ensures every event experience advances corporate objectives, reinforces brand value, and delivers measurable return on investment.

These events are highly visible and involve clients (IA), advisors, business partners as well as senior level executives. This role leads tier 1 and tier 2 programs and has budget accountability from $1 million to $5 million per program and will be responsible for 2-3 programs annually end to end. This individual must represent the organization with professionalism, courtesy and integrity.

Event project leadership, program design and execution

- Accountable for the development and execution of the overall event strategy, including program objectives, attendee experience design, agenda management, communications and marketing plans, content integration, budget oversight, stakeholder alignment, and operational delivery.
- Lead agenda planning and alignment with business stakeholders, sales enablement, product partners and content teams to ensure program messaging, learning outcomes and business priorities are effectively integrated throughout the attendee experience.
- Develop and execute event communications, marketing and website strategies including registration campaigns, attendee communications, promotional plans, creative brief development, asset management and coordination with internal marketing, brand and agency partners. Own and manage the end-to-end digital attendee journey across event registration platforms and content websites, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience.
- Design and deliver attendee engagement strategy leveraging networking that fosters meaningful connections.
- Provide strategic oversight of all creative development, ensuring brand standards, visual identity, messaging consistency, production workflow, specs and and attendee experience objectives are reflected across all event touchpoints.
- Lead and manage external partners including production companies, destination management companies (DMCs), creative agencies, venues and preferred suppliers, ensuring clear scopes of work, accountability, budget adherence and seamless execution.
- Facilitate planning meetings, identifying meeting agenda and program requirements; providing core planning documents, assigning responsibilities and coordinating and leading internal and external partners.
- Oversee venue planning and experience delivery including space allocation, floorplans, attendee flow, seating strategies, food and beverage planning, rooming strategy,



executive hosting requirements, health and safety protocols, security planning and onsite resource deployment.
- Ensure all regulatory, financial, risk management and compliance requirements are met, including event insurance, waivers, liability requirements, taxable benefit reporting, sales practice requirements and applicable regulatory approvals.
- As the lead, responsible for the collaboration amongst the internal and external partners creating a culture of creativity and accountability.

Financial management and compliance governance

- Accountable for maintaining an accurate and comprehensive financial review of each program, translating multiple budget inputs, decisions and variances into clear executive reporting that explains what changed from plan, why and the resulting impact on overall investment.
- Responsibility includes managing complex event budgets consisting of multiple expense categories, revenue streams and compliance requirements across tier 1 and 2 programs. Continuously forecasts, monitors and adjusts financial plans throughout the event lifecycle as business decisions, attendee volumes, program scope, production requirements, travel costs and stakeholder priorities evolve. Evaluates financial implications of program changes, provides recommendations that balance attendee experience, business objectives and budget commitments.
- Maintains ownership of the overall financials by tracking significant expenditures, identifying emerging risks and opportunities and proactively managing variances. Synthesize complex financial information into executive-level reporting that explains key cost drivers, variances from plan and major investment decisions and final program outcomes.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, invoice management, reconciliation revenue tracking (where applicable), net corporate investment reporting. For programs governed by National Instrument 81-105 or internal sales practice requirements, ensure compliance protocols are met, including preapproval, spend tracking and required documentation and close-out within required timelines.

Stakeholder, partner and cross functional team leadership / Post Reporting, continuous improvement and experience optimization

- Manage stakeholder relationships fostering alignment and driving progress toward agreed upon deliverables, and ensuring commitments, deliverable and key milestones are achieved in support of a successful program delivery.
- Provide regular project updates, strategic recommendations and decision support to senior leaders and key stakeholders, escalating risks and opportunities as required. Ensure programs are executed on time, on budget, compliant with applicable requirements and aligned with business objectives to deliver a high-quality attendee experience from concept development through post event completion. This individual must build deep, trusting relationships with business partners and executives.
- Lead planning alignment across internal teams including broader events team, marketing, product, sales enablement, distribution, internal stakeholders, external agencies, production partners, vendors, venues and onsite teams. Facilitate decision-making, maintain planning cadence, clarify roles and responsibilities, escalate risks and ensure all partners are aligned to the program objectives attendee experience, financial investment and delivery plan. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and work collaboratively across the team and partners.
- Lead post-event evaluation activities, including debrief sessions with internal events team, strategic partners (agencies and production partners)



to capture insights on successes and opportunities for improvement. Consolidate findings into a comprehensive post event assessment and recommendation plan.In partnership with leader, analyze attendee feedback, survey results, participation data, engagement metrics and established KPI’s to evaluate overall event effectiveness. Develop executive-level post reports that synthesize results demonstrating overall value, cost and impact of the event, provide recommendations for future enhancements to optimize attendee experience.

Qualifications

- Degree in business or communications
- Event management diploma
- 10+ year’s event experience, including program development and execution complex programs end to end.
- Experience leading teams and stakeholder management.
- Financial management of budgets minimum of $1M to $5M +
- Project management experience
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Extensive and current knowledge of event venues, entertainment options, and contacts in the Canadian marketplace.

Bilingualism is preferred as the role interacts with Advisors across the country (including French-speaking) and must be able to service in the language of choice. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $69,500 - $100,500 , which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
