Become a vital part of the mental health team at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto as a Mental Health Worker. This part time, permanent position in the Short Stay Unit focuses on supporting Transitional Aged Youth with mental health and addiction challenges.
This role requires expertise in working with youth aged 19 to 29, facilitating groups, and excellent communication skills. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver trauma-informed care, develop individualized care plans, and assist in crisis intervention. This innovative approach aims to foster well-being within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with Transitional Aged Youth to provide support • Facilitate therapy groups and sessions efficiently • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with teams • Monitor behaviours and support discharge planning • Diffuse potentially dangerous situations and assist in crisis
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health care field • Minimum 5 years in mental health, case, and crisis management • Experience in inpatient units or emergency settings • Knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
