Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Tier 3 Systems Engineer to own technical escalations, project deployment, and field service. This is a pure technical role—no direct line management—focused on solving complex server, network, and backup infrastructure challenges. You will spend significant time in the field working directly on client sites, executing server builds, and resolving critical network/cloud outages.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the final technical escalation point for complex Tier 3 network, server, and cloud incidents.
- Scope, build, and deploy Windows Server environments, cloud migrations (M365/Azure), and virtualized storage infrastructure.
- Perform emergency on-site hardware diagnoses, RAID/NAS rebuilds, and business continuity restorations.
- Maintain strict, accurate live time-logging and ticket documentation in our RMM/PSA system (Syncro).
- Drive billable field projects to completion on schedule and within architecture specs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on MSP or IT service provider experience.
- Deep expertise with Windows Server (2016–2022), Active Directory, M365/Exchange Online administration, and Hyper-V/VMware.
- Proven experience with network firewalls,



switches, VPNs, and NAS/SAN storage systems (Synology, QNAP, etc.).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong, clear client-facing communication skills under high-pressure outage scenarios.
- Proven experience in technical support roles with a focus on computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN setup, firewall management, VPN configuration, and wireless networking.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools including ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software issues across multiple operating systems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Experience supporting desktop environments in fast-paced environments with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco CCNA are a plus but not mandatory.
