Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with deep expertise in leading complex, multi-project initiatives within the Life Insurance domain. The ideal candidate brings a robust project management foundation with experience operating at or near the program level, coordinating interconnected projects and broader strategic initiatives. This role requires strategic coordination across projects, strong stakeholder engagement, and disciplined delivery management to ensure that all initiatives collectively achieve defined business outcomes.
Location: Toronto. This role requires you to work from our Toronto office and/or the client office 5 days per week, subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Program Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement program/project management strategies, frameworks, and governance models to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with PMO leadership, delivery managers, and project managers to prioritize initiatives and manage expectations.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate program/project-level risks and issues, ensuring proactive resolution and escalation when necessary.
- Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation across projects, balancing capacity with demand and ensuring efficient utilization.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate program/project performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the program/project management process, leveraging lessons learned and industry best practices.
- Financial Management: Manage program/project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Tooling & Reporting: Utilize program/project management tools and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into project status, risks, and performance.
- Change Management:
Support organizational change initiatives by aligning project activities with transformation goals.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, including in the Life Insurance domain.
- Multi-vendor Collaboration: 5+ years of experience managing the implementation and integration of Life Insurance solutions with third-party vendor solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Technical Skills: Possess a strong technical background in either Java or .NET suite of products.
- Methodologies: Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and portfolio management frameworks (PMP, PfMP, SAFe).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project Online, Jira, Azure ADO, or similar platforms.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a project context.
- Change Leadership: Experience in leading change management efforts and aligning project outcomes with organizational transformation.
- Strategic Alignment: Ability to align project outcomes with business strategy and drive value realization.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000-$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
