Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and proactive Senior Sales Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing store, managing fellow staff, adhering to store and sale polices and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for thrift.

The Senior Sales

Clerk will play a vital role in creating a welcoming shopping environment through effective merchandising and customer service. We are looking for someone who is excited about the world of thrift and values the charitable work Society of Saint Vincent de Paul does.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are properly stocked and labeled
- Manage cash register operations, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Keep the sales area clean, organized, and inviting for shoppers
- Assist in inventory management, restocking shelves, and merchandising efforts
- Adhere to rules and policies regarding pricing and promotions.

Skills





- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities welcomed to apply.
- Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or merchandising preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems and basic math skills for transactions and inventory counts
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge about thrift, brands and styles
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock management
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Critical thinking and organizational management
- Ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs.
- This position requires standing for extended periods of time.
