Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to provide cybersecurity architecture, design and technical leadership. The successful candidate will define secure solution architectures, assess technology risks and ensure infrastructure, applications, networks and data solutions incorporate appropriate cybersecurity controls throughout their lifecycle.
Location: Dartmouth/Halifax, Nova Scotia
Work Model: On-site – 5 days per week
Security and work requirements
Full-time on-site presence in Dartmouth/Halifax five days per week is required, together with 5+ years Canadian residency as applicable to the assignment and eligibility for Reliability and/or Secret clearance and Canadian Controlled Goods Program requirements.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Develop cybersecurity architectures, standards, patterns and technical security requirements.
- Provide security architecture oversight for infrastructure, network, application, cloud and data initiatives.
- Perform security architecture reviews, technical security assessments and risk assessments.
- Identify threats, vulnerabilities and security risks and recommend appropriate controls and mitigations.
- Develop security requirements and maintain traceability through solution design and implementation.
- Apply defence-in-depth, least-privilege and zero-trust principles.
- Define security controls for identity and access management, privileged access, network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management and endpoint protection.
- Participate in architecture and technical design-review boards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Network Architects, infrastructure teams, application teams, project managers and operational security teams.
- Assess new technologies, products and vendor solutions from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Support vulnerability-management, security-monitoring and incident-response activities.
- Ensure solutions align with applicable client, contractual and Government of Canada security requirements.
- Produce security architecture documents, technical risk assessments,
standards and security designs.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to cybersecurity and project teams.
- Support continuous improvement of cybersecurity architecture and security posture.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including significant cybersecurity architecture, engineering or security-design experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing security solutions for complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of security architecture, defence-in-depth, least privilege and zero-trust principles.
- Strong understanding of network, infrastructure, endpoint, identity, application and data security.
- Experience performing security assessments, threat modelling and technical risk analysis.
- Knowledge of industry cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001 and CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with Government of Canada IT security standards and guidance is a strong asset.
- Experience with IAM/PAM, SIEM, vulnerability management, firewalls, endpoint security and encryption technologies.
- Cloud and hybrid-cloud security knowledge is an asset.
- CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA or comparable cybersecurity certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate security risks to technical teams and executives.
- Defence, federal government, shipbuilding or another security-sensitive industry background is highly desirable.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000.00–$145,000.00 This role is a future opportunity
