Why is this role key?

The Senior Software Developer develops, operates, maintains, and enhances system solutions that support CIHI’s products and services. This role includes requirements and feasibility analysis, design, coding, testing, quality assurance, implementation, documentation, and day-to-day application maintenance and end-user support, while working closely with business partners to meet business needs.

What you'll do

1.



Work as part of technical teams to develop information systems, which may include requirements and feasibility analysis, design, coding, testing, quality assurance, implementation, and documentation, as well as day-to-day application maintenance and end-user support.
2. Analyze software deficiencies, problems, and change requests, and implement the changes within production systems; may be required to oversee and ensure timely implementation for the technical team.
3. Develop, modify, and eecute test plans, and ensure correct testing and sign-off procedures as part of CIHI’s quality assurance review and change management processes.
4. Develop and support web and CMS-based applications, including configuration, customization, and integration of Drupal platforms.
5. Develop and support integrations between Drupal, CKAN, and other enterprise platforms to support data discovery and publication

What you'll bring to the table

- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and related eperience.
- 3-5 years' eperience in Software Development.
- Eperience with Python and JavaScript.
- Eperience designing and implementing API-based integrations and data synchronization processes is an asset.

- Eperience developing web-based applications using Drupal, PHP, HTML, CSS, JQuery, and Git.




- Eperience with backend integrations, REST APIs, and tools such as Composer, Gulp, and Solr.
- Eperience integrating content management systems, data catalog platforms, and other enterprise applications using APIs and web services.

- Eperience implementing or supporting CKAN or similar open data platforms.
- Eperience working with structured data formats such as JSON, ML, and CSV is an asset.
