Responsibilities

During Development Phase

Support wind projects during the RFP phase

Support tender processes, including development, analysis and recommendations (preliminary design, geotechnical desktop studies, hydrology, road and pad design, etc.)

Prepare civil specifications and owner’s requirements to advance project design

Coordinate and/or execute preliminary civil design, including layouts, foundations, roads, turbine pads, laydown areas and substations

Perform trade‑off analyses in collaboration with Resource, GIS and Construction teams

Review consultants’ deliverables to ensure quality, scope, budget and schedule compliance

During Pre‑construction and Construction Phase

Review specifications and documentation for EPC contracts and engineering consultants

Review civil designs and studies

Ensure coordination with other disciplines (environment, health & safety, etc.)

Review and approve drawings to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety codes

Provide site engineering support including inspection and monitoring of civil works

Respond to RFIs and review/approve submittals

Coordinate engineering activities and manage consultants’ scope, budgets and schedules

Cross‑functional Collaboration

Interface with project management, construction, finance and other technical teams throughout project lifecycle

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering

Experience in wind project development and construction (including road and turbine pad design) preferred





Alternative experience in forestry or mining sectors with road design exposure may be considered

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Professional designation (P.Eng. / P.E.) required

Strong knowledge of civil engineering design and standards within the renewable energy industry

Advanced expertise in wind project development and construction phases

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage shifting priorities

Professional, proactive and team‑oriented mindset

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

Strong willingness to learn and grow across multiple projects

Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is an asset (if based in B.C.) or required (if based in Qc) to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders inside and outside of Québec on a regular basis

Additional Considerations

The position can be based in the company's Vancouver (BC) office or at the Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters

This position is a P3 level

Pay Transparency Statement
Compensation for roles at Innergex varies based on a wide range of factors, including skill set, education, and relevant experience. We are committed to pay equity and take internal equity among current team members into account when determining any final offer. To support pay transparency, the hiring range for this position is $105,000–$125,000 per year, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Your final base salary, if hired, will be determined by factors such as your skills, education, and experience, along with our commitment to internal equity. It is not typical to hire at the top of the hiring range, as doing so limits opportunities for future salary growth. Innergex also offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
