Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Standards and Quality Assurance, this role is pivotal in maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards across all aspects of airport operations. By conducting thorough audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, the Quality Assurance Auditor plays a crucial role in upholding the integrity and reliability of Porter’s systems and services.
This will involve evaluating, planning, and executing quality assurance audits of airport processes and procedures; working with multiple departments to evaluate and implement improvements in airport business processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs; and working with multiple departments to track and execute safety investigations and the completion of corrective actions assigned to Airport Operations. In addition, this role will compile and analyze airport safety and operational data for reporting purposes and trend analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform systematic and thorough audits of airport ops procedures, processes, facilities, and personnel to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Conduct external vendor audits i.e., Ramp Operations, Customer Service Operations, De-Icing and Fueling operations
Assist in maintaining and updating detailed audit checklists for all functions and elements under the approved manuals and quality assurance program
Conduct activities associated with audit preparation and planning, audit performance, audit reporting, follow-up and closure
Develop/validate root cause analysis. Recommend corrective actions based on root cause analysis
Investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to resolve identified process gaps
Analyze operational performance, safety and inspection data to identify trends, recurring discrepancies, procedural non-compliance, emerging operational risks and procedural improvement opportunities.
Perform periodic checks to assess the requirement for supplemental training, coaching, enforcement, or procedural changes
Conduct regular performance standards inspections throughout the Porter network to identify instances and trends of procedural non-conformance and lack of compliance with service level agreements.
Conduct thorough investigation of reported safety incidents and hazards in consultation with departmental subject matter experts. Liaise with departmental managers to identify and implement the necessary corrective action to audit findings and safety issues that are reported in to the Safety Management System
Track, coordinate, and report on the timelines and progress of investigations and corrective action as they relate to Airport Operations
Provide updates to the Safety Department regarding the progress and completion of investigations, analyses, implementation of corrective action, and audit processes
Provide updates to Airport Leadership on the status of the Airport's safety response
Conduct trend analysis and develop reports on Airport safety and operational performance
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply, and promote the Company Safety Policy
Support the Learning and Development team by reporting station and contractor training deficiencies as captured during audits/standard checks
Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, problem solve and affect positive change in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace

Qualifications
University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience
Minimum of 3-5 years in Airport Operations, Quality assurance, Safety assurance or equivalent experience
Certified Auditor or previously certified Auditor (ISO/ASQ/IOSA)
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in quality management principles, quality assurance, and/or auditing techniques
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish would be an asset
Knowledge of Transport Canada and Canadian Transportation Agency requirements
Strong knowledge of safety management systems and demonstrated experience of investigation and root cause analysis
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High proficiency in Windows-based applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of the Google Suite
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time
Highly motivated and self-directed with a keen attention to detail
Ability to travel across Porter’s network - Canada, U.S, Caribbean, Mexico ( 40%-60% depending on operational requirement). May include travel on short notice for up to one week. Flexibility and availability to work varied hours, including weekends, if required.
Able to hold and maintain a valid Passport (required for travel)
Able to hold and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC - Canada). Able to obtain and hold all required security clearances and airport passes across Porter's network.
