Perma‑Pipe in Camrose, AB is hiring a Quality Control (QC) Representative!

We’re looking for a Quality Control (QC) Representative to be a part of our growing Canadian (AB & ON) business. The Quality Control (QC) Representative is responsible for direct examination of products to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. They must adhere to the organization’s quality assurance policies and identify defects or production errors to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain.

This is an on‑site, Canada based position and candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Testing

Inspect production materials and finished products for defects according to established procedures.

Conduct inspections on bare and coated pipe, including coating processes.

Identify and remove defective items from production lines.

Document and classify defects, including reasons for removal.

Quality Control & Defect Management

Report quality issues and defects to the appropriate manager.

Place pipe on hold in the system when non‑conformance is identified.

Release materials once all required documentation and approvals are received.

Enter pipe cut data and maintain accurate system records.

Audits & Compliance

Perform internal QA audits in alignment with corporate policies and procedures.

Assist in conducting and supporting internal audit activities.

Ensure compliance with company QA programs, including supplier quality monitoring.

Adhere to local, national,



and international quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

Create and maintain QA control documentation.

Manage “Return from Fields” reports.

Organize and maintain corrective and preventative action (CAPA) documentation.

Track and maintain non‑conformance records and audit documentation.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

Support QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and quality metrics.

Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.

Adopt and integrate quality methodologies into daily work processes.

Training & Collaboration

Train employees on quality assurance procedures and best practices.

Communicate work instructions clearly to team members.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve quality‑related issues.

Required Qualifications
Technical Knowledge

Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control methodologies.

Knowledge of WHMIS and workplace health & safety standards.

Familiarity with manufacturing quality processes and inspection techniques.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Ability to accurately input and manage data in computer systems.

Problem‑Solving & Communication

Strong analytical skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve quality issues.

Ability to communicate effectively in both routine and high‑pressure situations.

Skilled in relaying clear instructions and collaborating with team members.

Organizational Skills





Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities effectively.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Mental & Cognitive Demands

Ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure workplace.

Capable of managing multiple challenges simultaneously.

Strong conflict‑resolution skills with the ability to navigate difficult situations professionally.

Work Environment & Conditions
Physical Environment

Industrial manufacturing and production setting.

Exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and heavy machinery.

Safety Requirements

Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including:

Stafey boots

Safety glasses/goggles

Gloves

Hearing protection

Dust masks as required

Work Conditions

Exposure to electrical and industrial hazards.

Overtime/Shift Work/Weekend Work may be required based on production needs.
