Role Summary Bouchier is seeking a skilled Utility Equipment Operator to join our team for roads and grounds projects. As a key member of our Common Services division, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, rock trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and graders. Your primary objective will be to execute tasks with precision, efficiency, and above all, safety.
Primary Responsibilities Operate all assigned heavy equipment such as rock trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and graders in a safe and effective manner to support roads and grounds maintenance and projects.
Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and security of all assigned equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks as required.
Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals, demonstrating adaptability to perform laborer duties as needed.
Proactively communicate any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
Actively participate in safety initiatives, including Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and safety meetings.
Embrace a culture of continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance equipment operation techniques and efficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, General Foreman and Site Manager.
Qualifications 2-5 years Heavy Equipment experience
Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License is required
Clean 5-year Driver Personal & Commercial Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required
WHMIS 2015
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Safety conscious attitude
Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test (Applicants are required to be clean shaven for testing and beyond)
All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Assets Finishing Experience
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is an asset
Ground Disturbance Certification is an asset
OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor Certification is an asset
First Aid Certification is an asset
H2S Alive Certification is an asset
