Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which will have a storage capacity of 250,000 m³ and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

Position
The Marine and Shipping Coordinator is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team and works closely with terminal operations, maintenance and logistics to ensure the safe, timely and efficient execution of marine activities. Supports the loading master and operations team during transfer of LNG. The successful candidate will report to the Marine Manager and will join in the project execution phase to support the operations readiness effort for an efficient transition to the operations phase and to support the company's objective of becoming a safe, reliable and efficient LNG producer in BC, Canada.

Responsibilities
During the Project Execution phase, the Marine and Shipping Coordinator will:

Provide oversight and technical support in respect of marine activities at the terminal

Provide the HSSE team with marine support as required

Support the development and implementation of TERMPOL recommendations prior to start of operations

Support the development of the Company's marine operating and emergency response plans

Develop the marine traffic management plan for commissioning and operations of the terminal

Support the operationalizing of the tug boat and passenger boat contract; manage the establishment and implementation of the materials barging contract





Assist in the commissioning and start‑up of the Terminal's Marine facilities cooldown and first cargo

During the Operational phase, the Marine and Shipping Coordinator will:

Coordinate the activities of all vessels calling at the terminal, which is water access only

Manage communications with LNG vessels and marine stakeholders including operations, pilots, tugs and agents

Assist with compatibility and assurance activities for the LNG vessels

Monitor and provide overview of marine operations, third‑party marine contracts for records, reports and performance monitoring

Conduct inspections and verification audits of marine subcontractors

Act as an Alternate Port Facility Security Officer

Act as the Terminal Representative ensuring that WLNG's mooring and cargo operations are conducted safely and in accordance with terminal operating procedures and best industry practices

Support the berthing, mooring and un‑berthing of LNG tankers and coordination of related activities such as cargo surveyors, crew changes and agents

Support maintenance, operations and logistics with respect to marine transportation

Fulfill necessary duties as part of the Emergency Response team as defined by the company

Manage the ongoing logistics related to materials barges and passenger vessels

Requirements and Experience





Experience as a Master Mariner or Chief Officer with liquefied gas ships preferred; chemical and oil experience will be considered

Experience in floating LNG facilities preferred (FSU, FSRU, FLNG); experience with FPSO will be considered

Experience in marine assurance activities such as vessel compatibility assessments, vetting and other pre‑approval activities

General experience in the various marine activities related to the operations of an LNG or bulk liquid terminal, including marine services, agency, pilotage, marine logistics

Right to work in Canada

Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English

Education

Master Mariner Chief Officer certificates

Dangerous cargo endorsements – liquefied gas tankers, chemical or oil tankers

Skills

Highly motivated, team‑oriented, strong analytic skills; ability to identify problems and successfully implement solutions

Comfortable with a broad interface role, collaborating with multiple disciplines when required

Ability to solve problems as they arise and understand how a solution will impact the immediate problem, the system and other stakeholders

Flexible with work hours, overtime, holidays and weekends, as required, to support LNGC schedule

Willing to comply with WLNG's drug‑free and harassment‑free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures

Good organizational, computer and communication skills, working in a team environment

Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Navisworks, Adobe Acrobat)

Benefits
Salary range: CAD 100,000 – 130,000 / yr
