Job Overview The Shipper/Delivery Driver reports to the Warehouse Manager and is a key member of the Shipping Department. This role plays a critical part in the day-to-day success of operations by ensuring materials are accurately prepared, safely transported, and delivered on time to active construction projects.
The Shipper/Delivery Driver at Toro Aluminum is proactive, reliable, and understands the importance of maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism at all times. This position involves operating a truck-mounted mobile loader crane, coordinating closely with warehouse staff, assisting with order preparation as needed, and ensuring protected handling of inbound and outbound materials.
The majority of the workday is spent completing deliveries. As a representative of Toro Aluminum, the Shipper/Delivery Driver is expected to uphold the company’s professional reputation through safe driving practices, clear communication, and respectful interactions at all job sites.
Responsibilities Safely and efficiently carry out all tasks and directives assigned by the Warehouse Manager
Deliver inbound and outbound materials in accordance with company shipping policies and procedures
Obtain signed delivery receipts from job sites and provide accurate counts to support inventory control
Complete all required documentation related to mobile crane operation, deliveries, and compliance with industry regulations
Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to ensure loads are accurate and properly secured
Assist with picking, staging, and preparing orders when required
Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment and procedures
Adjust delivery routes as needed in the event of failed deliveries, site delays, or missed appointments
Dispose of recycling and waste materials as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Qualifications Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required (Commercial Vehicle License preferred but not required )
Experience working in a shipping or warehouse environment
Basic computer skills, including the ability to complete digital forms or paperwork
Basic mobile phone skills, including calls, messaging, and navigation or delivery-related apps
Mobile Crane Certification preferred but not required
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and commitment to workplace safety
Hourly rate: $21.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
