We are seeking a full-time Equipment Technician to care for a large fleet of equipment ranging from simple backpack blowers, reel and rotary cutting equipment, all the way through excavators and large construction equipment. The Equipment Technician is responsible for learning the operation of new equipment, repair and maintenance, planning day-to-day tasks and assisting in future planning for the property’s equipment fleet under the Equipment Manager & Golf Course Superintendent.

Please note that prior experience with golf-specific machinery is not required. Many of the mechanical systems and components are common across equipment types and will likely be familiar to candidates with equipment technician experience. We encourage qualified applicants to apply, even if their background is not specific to golf course equipment.

Responsibilities





Operate and maintain various equipment, such as backpack blowers, reel and rotary cutting equipment, excavators, and large construction equipment

Assist the Equipment Manager with planning for the property’s equipment needs, including identifying requirements, supporting recommendations, and helping maintain equipment

Ensure the delivery of well-maintained equipment to result in high level playing conditions that are consistent with member expectations and evolving trends

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with seasonal staff who may have limited familiarity with machinery, providing clear instruction on the safe operation, basic maintenance, and proper care of equipment

Assist in training employees on the proper use of safety equipment including safety glasses, ear protection, and face shields

Value the importance of being a team player who sets a positive example for seasonal staff and contributes to a respectful, supportive working environment where all team members can excel and enjoy their work

Implement OH&S; standards as they pertain to the Turfcare operation

Qualifications

Education and/or experience with troubleshooting electrical and/or hydraulic systems

Experience in small engines and diesel engines, with a small engine or equivalent certification considered an asset, but not required

Experience with the operation and maintenance of construction equipment

A positive,



team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and support seasonal staff through clear, effective training

Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and ability to maintain high standards of work in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating company values

Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs

Ability to reliably work early mornings, with a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation, as public transportation is not available to our location

This is a full-time position that reports to the Equipment Manager. The successful candidate must have availability during the day and may be required to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a adaptable schedule is required.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace online certifications prior to commencing employment.
