Who We Are:

BIG HUG Hospitality is the team behind some of Toronto’s most celebrated restaurants, including Mimi Chinese, Sunnys Chinese, and Linny’s.

Located on the outskirts of Yorkville in midtown Toronto, Mimi’s story begins with nostalgic memories. Deep shades of red and penny-filled koi ponds. The rush of expert servers moving theatrically through the room in starched white dress shirts and pressed black bow ties.

The clanking of cutlery, cocktails being shaken vigorously in the background, and the scent of fragrant Sichuan peppercorn toasting in the wok. Our restaurant experience pays homage to the rich, deeply rooted history of Chinese food and beverage culture.

We hope to offer a place that brings back a taste of the past for those who had the joy of sharing these special experiences in the same way we did. And a place to form new memories to look back on one day with the same nostalgic magic we hold so dearly in our hearts. Mimi’s driving force is to have people leave our restaurant as excited about Chinese food culture as we are. We hope to get there through our regionally focused menu alongside our top-quality service and premium beverage program.

You will be responsible for creating a positive, welcoming guest experience that begins the moment a guest enters the door.

What You'll Do:

- Warmly greet and engage guests upon arrival and departure.
- Assist with the door by managing walk-ins, and seating flow.
- Communicate with servers and management to maximise seating and maintain a smooth flow of service.




- Answer questions about the menu and restaurant service.
- Promptly communicate guest comments, requests, and important information to the appropriate server or manager.
- Keep assigned sections, service stations, and shared areas clean, organized, stocked, and free from clutter.
- Deliver food and beverage accuratley and efficiently
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu ingredients, allergens, and special dietary requirements.
- Assist with table setup, clearing, cleaning, and resetting as required.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

What You'll Need:

- Previous work experience in a support position in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable is an asset
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
- Authorization to work in Canada
- An interest in learning about regional Chinese food and beverage
- Full-time or part time availability.
