Job Title : AML Governance & Advisory Assistant Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented AML Governance & Advisory Assistant Manager to join our Compliance, AML and Operational Risk Department.
This role is responsible for supporting the Bank's AML governance framework, model validation, sanctions screening oversight, regulatory compliance initiatives, and AML systems development projects . The successful candidate will work closely with the Governance & Advisory Unit, AML Operations Unit, Financial Intelligence Unit, and business stakeholders to ensure effective AML/ATF controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous enhancement of the Bank's AML program.
The position plays a key role in maintaining the effectiveness of the Bank's AML risk assessment methodologies, transaction monitoring framework, sanctions compliance controls, and AML governance processes , while promoting a strong culture of AML compliance throughout the organization.
What You Will Do
Review and investigate escalated name screening, sanctions screening, and transaction screening alerts , including SWIFT-related alerts.
Conduct AML data validation, model reviews, and methodology assessments , including customer risk rating, country risk rating, transaction monitoring scenarios, and related AML models.
Support ongoing enhancement of the Bank's AML systems, monitoring tools, and compliance technologies .
Participate in AML system development projects, including project planning, testing, implementation, user training, and procedural updates.
Monitor system functionality,
investigate system issues, and recommend process and technology improvements.
Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
Maintain AML/ATF/Sanctions compliance incident logs and related governance records.
Coordinate communications and information requests between the Parent Bank, internal business units, and external stakeholders.
Participate in the annual Enterprise-Wide AML Risk Assessment process.
Assist in the development of AML training materials and delivery of compliance training programs.
Support preparation of management reports, presentations, governance materials, and regulatory reporting.
Liaise with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), AML Operations Unit (AOU), business lines, branches, and external parties on AML-related matters.
Promote a strong culture of AML, sanctions, and regulatory compliance throughout the Bank.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Head of CAOD, or CAMLO.
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, Criminology, Risk Management, or a related discipline .
CAMS certification is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of banking, compliance,
risk management, audit, or financial crime experience , or at least 1 year of direct AML experience .
Strong knowledge of AML/ATF regulations, sanctions compliance, customer risk rating methodologies, transaction monitoring, and regulatory expectations .
Experience conducting AML investigations, screening reviews, model validations, or compliance testing is an asset.
Familiarity with FINTRAC requirements, AML governance frameworks, and regulatory examination processes .
Experience supporting AML technology projects, system testing, data validation, or process improvement initiatives is preferred.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
Excellent report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite , particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required due to regular interaction with the Parent Bank and cross-border stakeholders.
