We are seeking a licensed 309A Electrician to join our Service Department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, installing, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional (ICI)
environments. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, autonomy, and customer-focused service delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret and apply information from blueprints, schematics, sketches, and specifications to install, diagnose, and repair electrical and electronic systems.
- Perform systematic fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic components.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and conductor raceways.
- Splice, terminate, and connect electrical conductors.
- Repair and maintain indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
- Test systems and components to ensure optimal functionality and code compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, control panels, and various control circuits.
- Respond to both planned and reactive maintenance requests, resolving issues efficiently.
- Operate elevated work platforms and overhead lifting equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities and provide recommendations for preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and relevant standards.
- Identify system deficiencies and prepare technical recommendations with cost estimates and material requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency service calls.
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople.
- Provide skilled, knowledgeable, and courteous customer service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certificate of Qualification (Skilled Trades Ontario).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair within ICI settings.
- IR Thermography Level 1 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license; insurable on company fleet policy.
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
- Strong team player capable of supporting and collaborating with other trades.
- Excellent adaptability in fast-paced, evolving service environments.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
Artificial intelligence may be used in the screening and assessment of applicants.
