About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team with Dilawri Group of Companies - National. The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about the automotive industry and eager to contribute to our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliations
In addition to non-dealership accounting you would be helping out our centralized national purchasing company, and preparing quarter end dealership working paper templates
Accounts receivable and accounts payable oversight and review
Balance sheet schedule maintenance
Prepare third party quarterly and year end reporting
Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
Support and assist junior accounting staff with daily tasks and duties
Prepare manufacturer financial statements
Understanding of internal controls and their importance
Expense and inventory analysis
Assist with yearend financial statement audit requests
Set up and maintain information reports for senior management
Process, review and analyze payroll; focus on discrepancies and taxable deductions
Ensure all standard accounting policies,
procedures and controls are consistently and accurately applied
About You
Minimum 5+ years' experience of senior accounting within management, investment and real estate companies.
Fully understand the monthly accounting cycle and be proficient in accounting year ends.
University degree in Business/Accounting
Canadian skilled accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation is considered an asset but not required
Advanced knowledge of MS Office. Proficient in excel at a high level (macros and lookups)
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and procedures
Excellent level of communication and relationship building skills to develop strong working partnerships with team members and management
Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
Ability to be efficient and effective while working independently and within a team
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
