Salary Information
Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide support to students and faculty within the Veterinary Technician program at College of the North Atlantic's Prince Philip Drive campus.
Responsible for providing assistance to faculty in the planning, preparation, and delivery of instruction to students.
Demonstrating specific skills, tasks, experiments, and/or work practices in a classroom and/or laboratory setting.
Working closely with students to model appropriate behaviours.
Assisting faculty with the set-up of labs in advance of class.
Setting a professional example and communicating effectively at a level appropriate to the ability of students and providing an emotionally safe learning environment that is conducive to learning.
Other related duties consistent with providing and maintaining quality student-centered instruction will be required.
Screening Criteria
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Three years recent, relevant work experience.
Assessment Criteria
Knowledgeable in the subject area of veterinary technician including key concepts and best practices.
Ability to demonstrate fundamental skills.
Ability to exchange information effectively.
Ability to manage time and tasks.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Relationship building.

Conditions of Offer
When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.
Must be eligible for, and have, an active practicing license with the Eastern Veterinary Technician Association (EVTA) prior to commencing employment.
