As a Hydrogeology Student joining our team, you will have the chance to work on a project within either our Thermal or Conventional areas. You'll gain hands‑on experience mapping aquifers and associated geological units, and working with groundwater data. This role will enhance your understanding of petroleum geology and physical hydrogeology, contributing to your goal of a career in the discipline.
You will work closely with one or more experienced Area Hydrogeologists, gaining valuable experience and developing skills in geology and hydrogeology, as well as in reporting and presentation.
Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
Term length: 4 months

Key Accountabilities: On-the-job training with the supervising Area Hydrogeologist will be supplemented by mapping software training, in-house seminars, and short courses to enhance your experience and broaden your skills. Your core projects could include:
Compiling and assessing regional geological and hydrogeological data
Regional bedrock aquifer mapping
Mapping the hydraulic head of regional artesian aquifers
What You Bring to The Role:
Currently enrolled in a master's or bachelor’s degree program in Geology, with a specialization in Hydrogeology (recent new graduates of an accredited institution will also be considered)
Required to be physically and mentally fit for work
Motivated self-starter who can thrive as an independent worker and in team settings
A sense of ownership and responsibility for project outcomes, and the ability to work effectively in cooperative, interdisciplinary teams
