- Lead and support a team of Property Adjusters, setting transparent expectations and providing day‑to‑day guidance
- Assign and oversee claims to ensure timely, fair, and high‑quality outcomes for members
- Mentor adjusters through coaching, audits, and one‑on‑one development conversations
- Handle escalations and sensitive files with professionalism and sound judgment
- Ensure claims practices meet legislative, regulatory, and financial requirements
- Approve reserves, settlements, denials, and use of experts where appropriate
- Prepare, execute, and continuously improve AMA’s annual catastrophe response plan
- Collaborate closely with Claims Management, fellow supervisors, vendors, and internal partners
- Monitor performance metrics and vendor effectiveness, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of progressive claims handling experience, including at least 2 years in Property Claims
- Post‑secondary education
- Insurance designation completed or in progress; CIP, FCIP, and CRM preferred
- Strong knowledge of property policy wordings, building construction, and claims legislation
- Experience with estimating tools such as Xactimate preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance operating systems
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through busy, high‑pressure situations
- Ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team
