About the Role

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead our lobster holding facility operations. This role is responsible for supervising employees, ensuring the health and quality of live lobster inventory, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient daily operations. Our shift supervisor will be working alongside our management team, maintaining accurate live product inventory, and coordinating orders.

The successful candidate will lead by example, foster a positive team workplace, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and support employees during assigned shifts.
- Ensure the proper handling, grading, storage, and care of live lobster.
- Monitor tank systems, water quality, temperatures, oxygen levels, and overall lobster health.
- Coordinate receiving, inventory management, order preparation, and shipping activities.
- Ensure production schedules are met safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory, production, and quality records.
- Enforce company policies, food safety programs and workplace safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and coach employees while promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Address operational issues quickly and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and shift coverage.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to identify equipment concerns.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications





- Previous supervisory experience in seafood processing, aquaculture, food manufacturing, warehousing, or a related industrial environment preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and maintain a positive work environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office.
- Experience with inventory management systems is considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience working around pumps, filtration systems, or refrigeration equipment is an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety, occupational health and safety, and quality assurance practices is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a wet, cool environment.
