Shipper – Night Shift

Location: Mississauga, ON

Shift: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Pay Rate: $22.00/hour

Reports To: Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shipper to join our shipping team in Mississauga. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking and preparing customer orders, operating forklifts, loading and unloading trailers, completing shipping documentation, and ensuring all shipments are accurate and processed efficiently. This position requires working in a cold storage/freezer workplace with temperatures as low as -20°C.

Key Responsibilities

- Pick, prepare, and stage customer orders for shipment.

- Safely operate Counterbalance and Raymond Reach forklifts.

- Perform daily forklift safety inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

- Operate all required shipping equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.

- Transfer products accurately between freezer storage areas and the shipping/loading dock.

- Work safely in a -20°C freezer/cold storage environment.

- Load outbound trailers using proper stacking, load distribution, and safety procedures.

- Inspect incoming trailers to ensure they meet safety requirements, including proper use of wheel chocks and dock equipment.

- Verify that products are correctly labeled and moved to their designated locations.

- Confirm that all outgoing packages and boxes have the correct labels and documentation.

- Perform accurate case counts and ensure quantities match shipping specifications.

- Examine outgoing shipments for accuracy, condition, and completeness before dispatch.

- Complete, sign, and distribute all required internal and external shipping documentation.





- Accurately enter and update shipment information in the computer system.

- Track and maintain accurate shipment records.

- Ensure shipments are processed promptly, accurately, and according to customer requirements.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure shipping area.

- Follow all food safety, GMP, health and safety, and departmental policies.

- Participate in daily start-up meetings and communicate updates throughout the shift.

- Communicate effectively with team members, other departments, customers, dispatchers, and third-party logistics providers.

- Assist the Receiving Department as required.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in shipping, warehousing, or distribution is preferred.

- Experience operating Counterbalance and Raymond Reach forklifts is required.

- Valid forklift certification is an asset.

- Comfortable working in a freezer environment (-20°C).

- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling products and shipping documentation.

- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter data into a system.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle products as required.

- Knowledge of food safety and GMP practices is an asset.

- Commitment to workplace safety and following company procedures.
