The position is responsible for preparation of drawings, with the assistance of senior personnel as to methods, standards, and source data. Piping Designers possess a working level of competence in computer design and drafting.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCarries out original layout and design of process equipment modules for oil and gas processing facilitiesCreates and models piping designsCreates detailed design of structural steel skids and pipe supportsRevises existing designs based on vendor drawings and changes from stress analysis updatesCreates layout drawings and detailing of pipingProduces 3D modelsProduces piping isometricsProduces structural drawingsProduces fabrication drawingsOrganizes design data and vendor informationCalculates piping components and pre-orders materialsObtains and manages design specifics from Engineering and other disciplinesCollaborates with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and Fabrication ShopPrerequisitesEducationDiploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT) or an equivalent combination of training and experience in piping designExperienceEntry level position - no previous work experience is requiredProficiency in AutoCAD 2010 and higherOtherFabrication shop designing experience is an assetUnderstanding of design and drafting practices for piping componentsKnowledge of Cadworx or Navisworks is an assetAs a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict-of-Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention AgreementRequired Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsStrong command of the English languageExcellent organizational,
