Top Notch Torque Ltd. is seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Hand to join our Grande Prairie team. Reporting to the Shop Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the maintenance, coordination, organization, and upkeep of torquing and tensioning equipment.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety focused, and committed to providing quality service while working effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and general facility upkeep.
- Wash and clean equipment returned from the field.
- Perform general maintenance on shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Load and unload trucks delivering and picking up supplies and equipment.
- Move materials and equipment using hand tools, hand trucks, or skid steers.
- Assist with assembly work using power tools, hand tools, and automated machinery.
- Inspect components and report defective materials or equipment issues.
- Support special projects and provide coverage for other positions as required.
- Participate in occasional field work when operational needs require.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and customer service excellence.
- Foster a positive and cooperative team environment.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a minimum of 3 years driving history.
- Mechanically inclined with an interest in equipment maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet changing operational demands.
Preferred Assets
- Experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Machining experience or related training.
- Experience performing routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Valid safety certifications, including:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- CSO
- CSTS-2020
- Skid Steer Certification
- Fall Protection
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
- Wilderness Awareness
- Detection and Control of Flammable Substances
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year experience in the oil and gas industry.
- 1+ year machining experience or related mechanical experience.
