PPM is seeking a dependable Sidewalk Snow Removal Operator to help keep assigned sidewalks, entrances, and pedestrian areas safe and accessible throughout the winter season. The successful candidate will operate a MacLean sidewalk machine and respond promptly during snow and ice events.

This is a seasonal winter role based at our Bedford shop, with the opportunity to continue full time in summer line painting for candidates who are interested.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a MacLean sidewalk snow-removal machine safely and efficiently

Clear snow from sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and other assigned areas

Apply salt or ice-melting materials as required

Complete pre- and post-operation equipment inspections

Report equipment damage, mechanical concerns, and unsafe conditions

Perform basic cleaning and routine care of the machine

Follow assigned routes, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions

Be available for early-morning, overnight, weekend, and on-call shifts based on weather conditions

Qualifications

Previous snow-removal or winter-maintenance experience is preferred

Experience operating sidewalk machines or similar equipment is an asset





Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills are considered an asset

Dependable, punctual, and able to respond on short notice

Comfortable working independently in cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions

Able to work safely around pedestrians, vehicles, buildings, and other equipment

Physically capable of performing outdoor winter work for extended periods

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation to the Bedford work location

Schedule

This is a seasonal, weather-dependent position. Operators must be available for early mornings and on-call work, including nights, weekends, and holidays when snow or ice conditions require service. Hours are full-time during storm events.

What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, and comfortable operating equipment in challenging winter conditions. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to help keep properties safe are essential.

This winter role can lead to full-time line-painting work in the summer for operators who want to stay on.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
