Role Description The Solar Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in designing solar PV and BESS systems for a variety of project scales. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with single line and stringing diagrams, preparing wiring and conduit schedules, supporting site plan and equipment layout development, and helping assemble permit-ready drawing packages. The intern will also help with basic system performance calculations, document organization, and compliance checks related to NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements under guidance from senior engineers.





This internship role is in office and based in Mississauga, ON, providing hands-on exposure to real-world renewable energy projects and engineering workflows.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering principles, particularly as they relate to power systems or renewable energy.
- Candidates should possess skills in technical drawing and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar CAD software) for creating diagrams, layouts, and plan sets.
- Candidates should possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills for system sizing, performance estimation, and reviewing engineering documentation.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with solar PV or energy storage concepts, including system components, configurations, and basic safety considerations.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow engineering standards and procedures.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree or diploma program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team environment in Mississauga, ON, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
- Working knowledge of MS Office or similar productivity tools; exposure to NEC, local codes, or permitting processes is an asset.
