As a member of the Victim Services team, you will employ an anti-oppressive framework while assisting clients through emotional and practical challenges. You'll engage in hospital accompaniments, crisis line support, and advocacy for survivors, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout their recovery process. Training and collaboration with medical staff and community agencies are prioritized in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer emotional support and crisis response to survivors • Conduct initial client intakes to gather pertinent information • Answer crisis line calls during office hours • Accompany survivors at Vancouver General Hospital • Support survivors preparing for court and trial
Requirements: • Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field • Minimum 6 months related experience • Understanding of intersectional and anti-oppressive approaches • Ability to support survivors across jurisdictions • Willingness to undergo training for Victim Services
