Employment Type: Contract (1 Year + Extension Option)

Overview
We are seeking up to two experienced Senior Project Engineers to support the delivery of large-scale, multidisciplinary capital infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing projects through the complete lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close‑out.

This role requires strong project management capabilities, stakeholder engagement expertise, engineering leadership, and experience within complex transit or infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scope Development

Define project scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.

Develop project concepts and scope definition documentation.

Coordinate stakeholder reviews, approvals, and sign‑offs.

Manage project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Design Coordination

Oversee projects from preliminary design through detailed design stages.

Develop project work plans, packaging strategies, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinate design reviews and monitor progress against milestones.

Manage consultant procurement activities and design assignments.

Review and approve engineering work plans.

Manage consultant and in‑house design teams.

Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

Lead constructability and maintainability reviews.

Coordinate permits, regulatory approvals, and compliance requirements.

Conduct progress reviews and performance evaluations.

Contract Documentation & Procurement

Manage preparation of construction contract documents.

Review technical specifications,



drawings, and contract requirements.

Support tendering activities, bidder inquiries, and site tours.

Evaluate bids and provide technical recommendations for contract awards.

Construction Phase Support

Participate in kick‑off, progress, and technical meetings.

Review contract changes and technical submissions.

Support construction managers with technical and contractual matters.

Coordinate project close‑out, handover documentation, and lessons learned.

Capital Planning & Budgeting

Prepare project justification reports and budget submissions.

Develop project estimates and funding requirements.

Assist with management presentations and approval documentation.

Support capital program planning initiatives.

Stakeholder & Public Engagement

Support public consultation initiatives for capital projects.

Participate in community meetings, public information sessions, and stakeholder briefings.

Coordinate responses to public feedback and inquiries.

Develop communication and presentation materials.

Qualifications
Required

University degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.

Minimum 7 years of experience in a transit, transportation, or similar infrastructure environment.





Strong experience managing large‑scale construction and engineering projects.

Comprehensive knowledge of:

Project Management methodologies

Construction administration

Construction Act requirements

Scope, schedule, and cost control

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

Project Management Skilled (PMP) certification.

Experience supporting major capital infrastructure programs.

Hybrid work arrangement combining remote work and onsite project activities.

Regular attendance at project sites, stakeholder meetings, and office locations within the GTA.

Expected onsite presence approximately 2–3 days per week, subject to project requirements.

Occasional short‑notice attendance may be required.

Personal protective equipment will be provided where applicable, with the exception of safety footwear.

Initial term: 1 year

Extension option: Up to 2 additional one-year extensions

Full‑time dedication required (37.5 hours/week)
