Let’sTalkMe Inc. provides specialized exercise, rehabilitation, and wellness services for individuals with diverse physical, neurological, developmental, and behavioural needs.
We are looking for passionate Personal Trainers who want to use movement and exercise to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
The primary focus of this position is children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental or behavioural needs. Secondary populations may include individuals with neurological conditions, MVA rehabilitation clients, individuals requiring adaptive exercise, and occasionally neurotypical personal training clients.
This is not a traditional gym-floor position. Trainers work within clients’ environments and adapt programming to each individual’s abilities, goals, communication style, behaviour, interests, and needs.
The Role The Special Needs Personal Trainer delivers individualized and adaptive exercise programming to assigned Let’sTalkMe Inc. clients.
Sessions may take place at:
- The client’s home;
- A mutually agreed location;
- A Let’sTalkMe partner facility;
- A school, community centre, fitness or aquatic facility; or
- Another approved program location.
Candidates must be comfortable travelling within their agreed service area.
Core Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include
- Delivering safe, engaging, individualized training sessions;
- Developing and adapting exercise programs to client abilities and goals;
- Supporting strength, coordination, balance, mobility, endurance, physical literacy, confidence, and functional ability;
- Creating developmentally appropriate activities for children and youth;
- Adjusting communication and instruction to the individual;
- Working professionally with parents, guardians, caregivers, and other members of the client’s support system;
- Following applicable recommendations or restrictions from healthcare professionals;
- Maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality;
- Tracking sessions, hours, and required client documentation;
- Reporting relevant incidents, injuries, concerns, or significant changes; and
- Following Company policies, safety procedures, professional standards, and scope-of-practice requirements.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must
- Hold a valid Personal Training Certification;
- Hold valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification;
- Be willing to travel within their agreed service area;
- Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check after receiving a conditional offer and before beginning client-facing services;
- Maintain appropriate professional liability insurance;
- Be legally eligible to provide contracted services in Ontario;
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, adaptability, and strong communication skills;
- Be comfortable working independently and communicating with families and caregivers;
- Be available primarily during weekday afternoons and evenings, with potential weekend morning availability.
Current undergraduate students should normally be in their third or fourth year of study. Preferred Education A completed bachelor’s degree is preferred, particularly in:
- Psychology or Neuropsychology;
- Kinesiology;
- Neuroscience or Cognitive Science;
- Behavioural Science or Behavioural Therapy;
- Child Psychology or Child Development;
- Sports or Exercise Science;
- Health Science;
- Education or Pedagogy;
- Recreation and Leisure Studies; or
- Related health, developmental, rehabilitation, or human-performance fields.
A master’s degree or higher is an asset. Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, coaching, and relevant experience may also be considered. Additional Certifications & Skills
Applicants with additional sport, aquatic, fitness, or coaching qualifications are encouraged to apply, including:
- Certified Swim Instructors;
- Lifesaving or aquatic instructors;
- Sport-specific certified coaches;
- Strength and Conditioning specialists;
- Adaptive or youth fitness professionals;
- Behavioural or developmental support training; and
- Other recognized health, fitness, rehabilitation, recreation, or coaching credentials.
Sport backgrounds may include swimming, soccer, basketball, hockey, running, tennis, volleyball, martial arts, gymnastics, strength and conditioning, or other sports. These qualifications may create opportunities for sport-specific, aquatic, school, group, workshop, or community programming.
All services must remain within the individual’s qualifications, competence, insurance coverage, and scope of practice.
Preferred Experience
Experience in the following areas is valuable:
- Children and youth;
- ASD or developmental disabilities;
- Adaptive physical activity;
- Behavioural support;
- Pediatric exercise;
- Neurological populations;
- Rehabilitation-oriented exercise;
- Motor development and physical literacy;
- Sport coaching or aquatic instruction.
Experience working with children is preferred, experience with ASD is a strong asset, and experience with neurological populations is also valued. Who We Are Looking For

Schedule & Seasonal Availability
Hours depend on client demand, geography, and successful client matching. A minimum number of hours or clients is not guaranteed.
Most pediatric appointments occur during weekday afternoons and evenings, with potential weekend morning opportunities.
Because many clients follow the academic calendar, availability and demand may change during summer, winter break, March/Spring Break, school holidays, and family vacations. Flexibility is an important part of this position.
Compensation & Growth
1-on-1 personal training starts at $40/hour.
Additional opportunities may include

- School programs;

- Workshops and community programs; and
- Specialized projects.
Compensation for other services may vary by program or project. Strong team members may have opportunities to grow their client roster, skilled experience, and involvement with Let’sTalkMe Inc.
