As Supervisor, Property Claims, you’ll guide a team of property adjusters through complex, high-impact moments for our members—ensuring claims are handled fairly, efficiently, and with care. You’ll balance day-to-day operations with coaching, quality oversight, and forward-thinking planning, including preparing for and leading responses to catastrophe events. Lead and support a team of Property Adjusters, setting clear expectations and providing day-to-day guidance Assign and oversee claims to ensure timely, fair, and high-quality outcomes for members Mentor adjusters through coaching, audits, and one‑on‑one development conversations Handle escalations and sensitive files with professionalism and sound judgment Ensure claims practices meet legislative, regulatory, and financial requirements Approve reserves, settlements, denials, and use of experts where appropriate Prepare, execute, and continuously improve AMA’s annual catastrophe response plan Collaborate closely with Claims Management, fellow supervisors, vendors, and internal partners Monitor performance metrics,
vendor effectiveness, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service What You Bring to the Table
Minimum 5 years of progressive claims handling experience, including at least 2 years in Property Claims Post‑secondary education, with an insurance designation completed or in progress (CIP, FCIP, CRM preferred) Strong knowledge of property policy wordings, building construction, and claims legislation Experience with estimating tools such as Xactimate (preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance operating systems Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through busy, high‑pressure situations Belonging Matters
