Reporting directly to the COO, the candidate will manage day to day maintenance operations of a state-of-the-art, 120,000 sq. ft. cannabis production facility, including maintaining the building site and physical plant with particular attention towards stability, safety, and asset protection.

Assists with managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Assists with the Production team response team to rectify facility issues.

Responsibilities:

- Management of Facility Operations and Budgets
- Perform daily building operations tasks like building maintenance and repairs
- Monitor, operate and maintain all cooling (chillers & cooling towers), heating (boilers & domestic hot water) and low pressurized pumps
- Assists with ensuring regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
- Assists with managing and controlling heat, light and power and recommends current best methods prioritized as production quality, energy conservation and economical facility operations.
- Assists with the development of specifications and requirements for maintenance service contracts and administers such contracts to support building needs.
- Delegate, train and assist with completion of preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitors timeliness and quality of completion.
- Oversight of the maintenance of grounds
- Assists with the development of a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and overseeing execution of plan.
- Coordinates with contractors for quotes and to ensure timely completion of repairs, or projects within budgetary guidelines.
- Builds positive relationships with company departments, and arms length tenants.




- Performs monthly property inspection to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
- Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
- Recommends or arranges for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and equipment.
- Selects and orders or purchases new equipment, and HVAC parts
- Manages parts and equipment inventory.

Maintaining Property and Production Standards

- Ensures building and equipment licenses and certifications are current
- Ensures emergency generator maintenance and inspections are within code
- Maintains property life safety systems (firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems and alarm systems).
- Ensure site log books and administrative records are regularly maintained

Other

- To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Four (4) to Five (5) years of experience in the engineering and facility maintenance
- Technical training in HVAC/electrical/plumbing.
- Experience leading a small technical support team
- The preferred candidate will be highly organized and have strong attention to detail.
- Diplomacy and outstanding communication skills are essential
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines




- Ability to completely manage projects from start to finish
- Knowledge of building management systems (Schneider Eco-Structure BMS software), HVAC, ( journeyman) plumbing, high voltage electrical, and general safety systems
- Exceptional communications, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook
- Exposure to a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) documentation and operating environment considered a key asset
- Solid understanding of sophisticated industrial building automation control systems (Delta Controls) to easily adopt new technology and innovative business solutions
- Level I First Aid and WHMIS Certifications preferred

What will you do?

- Monitor and liaise with preventative maintenance and automation control programming subcontractors while on-site
- Monitor, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment using Schneider Eco-Structure BMS software
- Maintain water treatment program through proper testing and treatment of all system and closed loops including condensed water systems
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program
- Conduct daily building equipment checks/inspections and identify abnormalities or inefficiencies
- Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a timely manner

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: $75,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
