The Opportunity

TRAPA is seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial individual to join our Specialty Lumber Sales & Trading team in Richmond, BC.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship building, problem solving, international business, and working in a fast moving team environment. The successful candidate will work directly alongside experienced traders and senior leadership while learning the complexities of specialty lumber sales, export markets, logistics, customer development, and global trade.

This is not a traditional desk job. Every day presents different challenges, opportunities, products, customers, and markets.

The Role

- Support and develop specialty lumber sales programs across domestic and export markets
- Help support our Douglas fir and Western red cedar custom cut programs
- Assist in managing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Work closely with sawmills, remanufacturers, reloads,



and logistics providers
- Learn pricing strategy, market analysis, and product positioning
- Participate in customer visits, industry events, and trade shows
- Collaborate with TRAPA’s sales, logistics, and administrative teams to execute business efficiently
- Develop an understanding of specialty lumber manufacturing, grades, sizes, and market applications The Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly motivated and entrepreneurial
- Curious and eager to learn
- Strong in communication and relationship building
- Comfortable working in a quick paced environment
- Organized and detail oriented
- Interested in international business and forest products
- A critical thinker who enjoys solving problems

Experience in lumber, manufacturing, logistics, or sales is an asset, but not required for the right individual.

Post secondary education in business, forestry, marketing, international trade, or a related field is considered an asset.
