Job Summary
Reporting to the Sport Development Coordinator, this position will assist in ensuring all sport development initiatives within the community run effectively and efficiently while providing ample opportunity for participation by the community. This may include administration of athlete/coach/officials development, sport tourism, physical literacy and community outreach programs while ensuring staff are well supervised, trained and well managed. This position will mentor, support, motivate and provide guidance on performance management of all sport development staff and volunteers while maintaining positive relationships with fellow area staff, residents, community sport groups and clients.
The Sport Development
Supervisor will be a front line resource in sport development and community sport engagement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in providing administration and supervision of City-wide sport development initiatives
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training,
scheduling and managing performance of part-time staff
- Work closely with community sport groups, Provincial and National Sport Organizations identification of capital budget needs
- Ensure an environment of customer service excellence exists when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys
- Assist with the preparation and presentation or promotional materials
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of promotional materials for internal and external clients
- Responsible to manage the event load in and logistics for a smooth transition and event success.
- Ensure event logistics are detailed and current prior to the event beginning.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education (College diploma or University degree) in recreation, sport management or appropriate discipline.
- Minimum three years full time supervisory experience in a recreation/sport setting
- Current certifications in Standard First Aid OR Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence
- Proficiency in MS office, experience with CLASS an asset.
