Cloud Platform
Specialist design, build, configure, test, deploy, maintain, and support McKesson’s cloud services, platforms, and solutions. This is a hands-on, technically deep individual-contributor role that works directly in the Azure portal, applies a code- and automation-first approach, and uses AI and automation to improve reliability and eliminate manual effort. In addition to the engineering foundation, this role serves as a connective layer for the Cloud Platform organization-consolidating technical information across engineering, operations, architecture, and FinOps into clear, decision-ready reporting, and ensuring initiatives remain governed, compliant, and audit-ready in a regulated healthcare environment.
Terraform, Bicep/ARM, PowerShell, Python). Designs and implements AI- and automation-enabled capabilities (e.g., AIOps, intelligent workflows) that reduce manual effort and improve quality. Ensures adherence to enterprise policies, principles, cyber security protocols, and guardrails, including code documentation and source-control versioning.
Translates business and technical requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and solution designs, and determines their impact on existing architecture and processes. Consolidates and contextualizes requirements across multiple systems, platforms, and business domains, ensuring alignment with technical, security, and compliance standards. Communicates technical implications, constraints, and dependencies clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Establishes and maintains governance,
controls, and traceability for platform initiatives so that documentation, decisions, and approvals are complete and auditable. Supports compliance and audit readiness by tracking controls, evidence, access, and policy adherence across the cloud platform setting. Ensures technical standards, runbooks, and automation are current, consistent, and applied across the organization.
Monitor, Tune & Report Performance Analyzes logs and metrics, monitors performance, and identifies opportunities for optimization, reliability, and cost efficiency. Applies AI-driven observability and analytics to detect anomalies, forecast capacity, and drive continuous improvement. Participate in Planning & Be an Effective Team Player Contributes to short- and long-term planning with service leaders and delivery managers, providing input on options, risk, and cost/benefit trade-offs.
Facilitates technical working sessions and reviews, capturing decisions, risks, and action items and driving them to closure. Stays current on cloud, automation, and AI trends and adopts new tools and practices to advance the platform organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typically 7+ years of relevant professional experience,
with direct, hands-on responsibility for building and operating cloud environments.
Required Technical Skills
Hands-on proficiency navigating and administering the Azure portal (and/or AWS), including core services, operations, and cost/consumption concepts. Terraform, Bicep/ARM, PowerShell, Python). Practical experience applying AI and automation (e.g., AIOps, intelligent automation, or ML-enabled tooling) to operational or engineering problems.
Experience with governance, controls, compliance, or audit processes in a regulated environment. Demonstrated ability to consolidate information from multiple technical sources into clear reporting for leadership. Proficiency with reporting and collaboration tools such as Power BI, Excel, SharePoint/Confluence, and Azure DevOps or Jira.
Comfortable creating clear presentations and technical diagrams (e.g., Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical detail for business audiences.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator/Solutions Architect, AWS, or ITIL.
