Senior Front-End Developer (Vue/React) — 6-Month Contract, Toronto

I'm hiring two senior front-end developers for my client, one of Canada's Big 5 banks, to join their Digital Web Development team building the client-facing web applications behind their digital banking channels.

This is a senior IC seat with influence. You'll drive feature development on enterprise-scale responsive web applications, participate in code reviews and technical design, and mentor developers around you — while staying fully hands-on. The team is 40+ strong, and this role has real visibility with senior technical leadership.

What you'll work with

- Contemporary JavaScript frameworks — the platform is Vue.js, and they're open to strong React developers who can transfer over (solid vanilla JS fundamentals are the real requirement)
- State management (Pinia, Vuex, Redux)
- HTML5, CSS/SCSS, responsive design,



and genuine accessibility work (WCAG)
- Git/GitHub, Node.js tooling, enterprise release processes

What you'll need:
- 5+ years of front-end development experience
- A track record of landing in a new codebase and shipping quickly with minimal ramp-up
- Experience building responsive, accessible, client-facing applications
- Comfort operating independently at a senior level

The details:
- 6-month contract with strong potential to extend, and possible conversion to permanent down the line
- Hybrid: 1 day/week onsite in downtown Toronto
- Rate: $60–80/hr depending on overall experience — up to $65/hr on T4, or up to $80/hr incorporated (corp-to-corp)
- Target start: early September
- Interview process is quick — 1 to 2 rounds
