Storage Facility Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, organized, and customer-focused Storage Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our self-storage facility.
The Storage Facility Manager will be the primary point of contact for our customers and will be responsible for providing exceptional service, managing rentals and accounts, maintaining the property, supporting sales, and ensuring the facility is clean, secure, professional, and welcoming.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with sales and administration, takes pride in maintaining an organized property, and is confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide outstanding customer service to all customers, both in person and over the telephone.
- Help customers determine the appropriate storage unit size and solution based on their individual needs.
- Respond professionally and promptly to customer inquiries regarding availability, pricing, policies, payments, and storage options.
- Complete storage unit rentals and ensure customers understand rental agreements, fees, facility policies, and access procedures.
- Follow up on customer inquiries and sales leads to help maximize occupancy.
- Recommend and sell additional products and services, including boxes, tape, locks, packing supplies, and other available merchandise.
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and work toward timely resolutions.
Facility Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the storage facility and ensure the property is safe, secure, clean, and customer-ready.
- Conduct regular property inspections, including checking storage units, locks, gates, common areas, and facility grounds.
- Confirm vacant unit inventory and ensure available units are clean, secure, and ready to rent.
- Monitor facility access and report or address security and maintenance concerns.
- Coordinate minor maintenance requirements and communicate larger repair needs to management or appropriate contractors.
- Maintain accurate facility, customer, and unit records.
Accounts & Administration
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate account records.
- Contact customers regarding overdue or delinquent accounts and assist with collection efforts in accordance with company policies.
- Manage and balance the cash drawer as required.
- Prepare and complete deposits and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Maintain organized documentation for rental agreements, payments, customer correspondence, and facility operations.
- Prepare basic reports and provide updates to management regarding occupancy, rentals, collections, maintenance, and other facility activities.
Property Maintenance
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, wiping windows, cleaning bathrooms, removing debris, and cleaning vacant storage units.
- Regularly inspect the property to ensure it presents a professional and welcoming appearance.
- Identify potential safety, security, or maintenance issues and ensure they are addressed promptly.
Team & Performance
- Work closely with management to receive training, coaching, and ongoing support.
- Meet or exceed company expectations for customer service, sales, occupancy, collections, and property standards.
- Participate in company training and continuously develop knowledge of storage products, services, systems, and procedures.
- Take ownership of the facility and contribute to creating a positive experience for every customer.
Qualifications & Skills Successful candidates may come from a variety of customer service and sales backgrounds, including retail, hospitality, restaurants, property management, automotive, telecommunications, or other service-oriented industries.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 2–3 years of customer service and/or sales experience.
- An energetic, outgoing, and customer-oriented personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day operations.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience working in a Windows environment,
including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and web-based software.
- Ability to learn storage management and point-of-sale software.
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation as required during the workday.
- Flexibility to work various days of the week, including weekends when required.
- Ability and willingness to perform light cleaning and maintenance duties.
Key Communication Requirement MUST HAVE: A clear, professional, and easily understood telephone voice, along with an excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
A significant portion of this role involves speaking with prospective and existing customers over the telephone. The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating pricing, policies, rental terms, payment information, and storage options clearly, professionally, and confidently.

Previous self-storage experience is an asset, but not required. We are happy to train the right person who brings strong customer service, sales, communication, and organizational skills.

Position Type Full-Time The Storage Facility Manager plays an important role in the success of the facility. We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing exceptional service, building positive customer relationships, maintaining a first-class property, and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
