The Herb Depot has been a staple provider of Chinese herbs and medicine since 1992 to the Toronto community.

We are looking to add a new associate to our team at our Dundas and Spadina Location. Steps from St.Patrick station, and minutes from The Art Gallery of Ontario.

Requirements:

With a balance of Chinese and Western clients from all cultures; Mandarin Chinese and English is mandatory

Working proficiency of Mandarin, followed by fluent oral and written English skills are necessary. Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, and English is preferred An interest in natural health, natural remedies, and existing knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine is preferred

Team player, able to work independently without supervision, follows instructions

Good time management of daily tasks, willingness to constantly learn and improve

Multi-dimensional worker; capable of doing different types of tasks throughout the day, stay calm when busy

Intermediate computer skills

Attention to detail, takes accountability and initiative

Main Duties:

This position is for both front of house (foh) & back of house (boh) on rotation with colleagues.

FOH includes customer service and sales; BOH operations include online shipping fulfillment & inventory duties.

FOH:





Assisting customers in purchasing Chinese Medicine and health products

Friendly and efficient customer service across all channels (emails, socials, phone calls)

Completing transactions via our POS system and online pickup system

Light cleaning and daily upkeep of the storefront; includes re-stocking and packaging

Creative blog write-ups, monthly email subscriptions, daily social media posts

BOH:

Streamline the flow of online orders via our e-commerce platform

Carefully check orders before being fulfilled for delivery; shipping labels

Weigh and label herbs, assist with packing of parcels with care and accuracy

Quick troubleshooting on any order discrepancies and order changes

Accurate stock taking; lifting of light to heavy boxes required

Hours: 1-3 days per week, 4-8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. Must have Saturday availability for future weekend shifts.
