SSC Countertops Ltd located at Unit 102, 8288 North Fraser Way, Burnaby, British Columbia V3N 0E9 is looking for one (1) Stone Installer/Marble Setter to ensure proper installation and quality control. The wage is $38.40 per hour depending on experience. This is a full-time, year-round position working 40 hours per week.

Extended health benefits are available after 3 months of employment. Our ideal candidate will have an aptitude for precision, be team oriented with a strong work ethic. We require candidates who have a minimum of 5 years experience as a stone installer/marble setter or directly related stone fabrication and installation experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Discuss project details with the project manager before installation.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
- Remove the existing countertop and other pieces, if necessary.
- Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be worked on.
- Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives as needed.
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets.
- Set counters and other pieces in position and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- Verify that pieces are properly aligned using appropriate tools such as levels and squares.
- Install large-format and dimensional natural stone, including oversized islands, fireplace surrounds, wall cladding and other custom architectural stonework.
- Cut and polish marble, granite and other natural stone when required.
- Inspect finished projects to ensure proper completion and quality.
- Perform required natural stone repairs and touch-ups on recently finished jobs.
- Quickly recognize and handle any issues that may arise on site.




- Travel to residential project sites throughout the Lower Mainland and other locations within British Columbia as required.
- Unload, clean and organize the van by the end of the day.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

- A minimum of 5 years experience in stone installation/marble setting or directly related stone fabrication and installation experience.
- Must have extensive experience using stone and woodworking tools and display good tool control when using grinders, polishers and other tools to work stone.
- Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of concepts such as level, plumb, square, flush etc.
- Must be able to read and understand architectural and design drawings.
- Must have experience using thinset, adhesives and epoxies.
- Must have experience installing large-format and dimensional natural stone, including oversized countertops and islands, fireplace surrounds, wall cladding and custom architectural stonework.
- Must be proficient in natural stone repair and polishing, including chip and seam repairs, on-site finishing and matching existing stone finishes.
- Experience in managing the final quality of an installed product.
- Experience working in high-end residential environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a good understanding of finishing carpentry, millwork and construction.
- Valid BC Driving License.
- Must be willing and able to travel to out-of-town project sites within British Columbia when required, which may occasionally require overnight stays.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
