We are currently seeking a Structural Designer to join our Industrial Structures Division to work out of our Toronto office.

Responsibilities

· Develop detailed structural designs for a variety of structural engineering projects including commercial and industrial building structures;

· Perform structural analysis and detailed design of concrete and steel structures based on engineering principles and technical skill, experience, innovation, and engineering judgment, to transform project scope from concept design to construction, meeting applicable regulatory codes and standards;

- Evaluate project information to identify possible design solutions, coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager, clients and consultants to ensure design will work within the overall scope of the project;

· Complete construction site visits and produce written reports; · Other related duties, as assigned.





Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with courses related to structural engineering;

· Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) or working towards P.Eng.;

· 3-5 years of relevant experience;

- Previous experience working on industrial projects;
- Knowledge of finite element analysis Design Software (STAAD/SAP2000/STRAP or similar);

· Knowledge of Auto CAD software; · Solid understanding of building structural design, the Ontario Building Code, the building permit processes, and applicable regulations, standards and legislation related to structural engineering projects;

· Experience with construction contract administration;

- Solid knowledge of structural framing (steel and concrete) and support structures;

· Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel; · Strong written and verbal communication skills;

· Excellent time management and decision making skills;

· Experience with technical report writing;

· Access to a vehicle and a valid ‘G’ driver’s license for travel to project sites. Mileage will be reimbursed for work related travel.

Salary Range

· $68,000 - $80,000
