Position Overview The Structural Detailer is responsible for preparing accurate and complete structural steel and miscellaneous metals drawings, 3D models, fabrication details, material lists, and supporting documentation required for the fabrication and installation of structural components.

Working closely with Project Managers, Foremen, fabrication personnel, engineers, consultants, and other members of the project team, the Structural Detailer converts contract drawings, specifications, engineering information, and field requirements into clear and constructible fabrication and erection information.

The Structural Detailer plays an important role in identifying design conflicts, missing information, constructability concerns, and potential changes before they impact fabrication or field installation. Accuracy, attention to detail, communication, and the ability to manage multiple project priorities are essential to this position.

Responsibilities

- Prepare structural steel and miscellaneous metals shop, fabrication, assembly, and erection drawings.
- Create and maintain accurate 3D models.
- Prepare material lists, hardware details, and other required fabrication information.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and IFC drawings.
- Review project specifications and applicable construction requirements.
- Identify drawing conflicts, missing information, and constructability concerns.
- Assist with RFIs and other requests for clarification.
- Incorporate approved drawing revisions and project changes.
- Coordinate drawings with Project Managers, Foremen, fabrication staff, and other trades.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and complete before being released for fabrication.
- Follow company drafting, detailing, naming, and submission standards.




- Maintain organized project drawings, models, and supporting documentation.
- Track drawing priorities and deadlines to support fabrication and construction schedules.
- Provide drafting and detailing support to the fabrication shop and field.
- Follow applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.

Qualifications

- Proficient in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Experience with structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals detailing.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and IFC drawings.
- Understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Familiarity with construction phases and processes.
- Familiarity with RFIs, PCNs, CDs, SIs, shop drawings, and drawing revisions.
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications.
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Ability to work additional hours when required to meet project deadlines.

NOTE: The is not all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated and assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
