Contribute to scientific research as a Student Workshop Machinist at the University of Toronto. Ensure workshop safety while aiding students with their fabrication needs. This role in the Mechanical & Industrial Engineering department supports student-led projects and requires a deep understanding of machining practices.
You will conduct safety training sessions and be responsible for maintaining equipment and inventory, while also providing consultation on fabrication techniques. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and modify custom scientific apparatus
- Create technical drawings for various fabrication tasks
- Set-up workshops according to project needs
- Maintain workshop safety standards and equipment
- Assist students with mechanical design inquiries Requirements:
- College Diploma or relevant experience
- At least 8 years experience in machining
- SolidWorks expertise with 2+ years required
- CNC machine operation experience is essential
